If you are an insurance agent, you may have heard about both the LIC Super Sales Saathi App and the Mitra Insurance Agent App. Both are designed for insurance agents, but they are built with different purposes in mind.

In this article, I will talk about both apps from an insurance agent's practical point of view. We will look at how LIC Super Sales Saathi App and Mitra Insurance Agent App can be used in our regular work and where their roles are different.

Rather than simply comparing the two apps feature by feature, I want to explain the difference based on the kind of work an insurance agent actually does. This includes managing policies, customers, renewals, servicing and other regular activities.

LIC Super Sales Saathi vs Mitra Insurance Agent App

So, if you are already using LIC Super Sales Saathi App, considering Mitra Insurance Agent App, or simply trying to understand both apps, this article will help you understand where each app fits into your working system.

Feature LIC Super Sales Saathi Mitra Insurance Agent App
Policy Data LIC system data Agent adds own data
Other Agents’ Policies Own agency related Can add & manage
Other Companies LIC focused Multiple insurers
Renewal Management Renewal information Smart filters & follow-up
Reminders Limited SMS, WhatsApp & Email
Revival Limited information Revival amount & late fee
FYP Tracking Business information Separate FYP tracking

1. First Understand the Basic Difference

LIC Super Sales Saathi App is the official LIC app for marketing intermediaries, so LIC agents can use it for information and activities connected with their LIC agency. However, the amount and type of policy or customer data available in the app is still limited for the kind of detailed day-to-day policy management an agent may need.

Mitra Insurance Agent App is not an LIC app and is not developed or owned by LIC. It is an independent Policy CRM where an agent can add and maintain policy information according to their own working requirements, making it easier to organise policies and manage regular customer-related work.

For example, when we need to maintain our own policy records, check important policy details, organise upcoming renewals, follow up on overdue cases or keep customer information together, Mitra Insurance Agent App gives us a more practical working space for these activities.

So, LIC Super Sales Saathi App and Mitra Insurance Agent App have different roles. One is the official LIC platform for LIC agency-related information and activities, while the other gives an insurance agent their own policy management system with the data they choose to maintain.

2. What Can You Do With LIC Super Sales Saathi App and Mitra Insurance Agent App?

LIC Super Sales Saathi App is mainly useful for checking information related to your LIC agency and business. It gives an LIC agent access to business performance, policy-related information, renewals, commission, MDRT progress and other agency-related details available through the LIC system.

Mitra Insurance Agent App works differently because you can build your own policy database inside the app. You can add the policies and customer information you want to maintain, including policies that may not have been originally sold by you but are now being serviced or managed by you.

This becomes useful when your number of policies starts increasing. Instead of keeping information in different places, Mitra Insurance Agent App allows you to keep your policy records together and use them for regular follow-up and management.

So, while LIC Super Sales Saathi App gives you information available from the LIC system, Mitra Insurance Agent App gives you more control over the policy data you want to maintain for your own day-to-day working.

3. You Can Add Policies Yourself

When you start using the LIC Super Sales Saathi App, the LIC-related policy and agency information available in the LIC system can appear in the app automatically. You do not have to manually enter every LIC policy one by one just to see the information already available in the system.

Mitra Insurance Agent App works differently. When you create your account for the first time, your policy database starts from zero. You have to add your policies and customer details yourself, one by one, according to the information you want to maintain.

Mitra Insurance Agent App does not automatically download or fetch your policies from LIC. There is no direct LIC database connection that imports all your policies into the app. This is important to understand before starting, because the initial setup requires some manual work.

The benefit is that the data in Mitra Insurance Agent App is the data you choose to maintain. You can add policies according to your own requirements, including policies that you are servicing or managing, while LIC Super Sales Saathi App shows the information available through the official LIC system.

4. You Can Also Manage Policies Sold by Another Agent

LIC Super Sales Saathi App generally shows policies connected to your own agency code. So, if a policy was originally sold under another agent's agency code, that policy will not normally appear in your agency's policy data.

Mitra Insurance Agent App works differently. You can add your own policies, but you can also add policies sold by another agent if you are currently managing or servicing those policies for the customer.

For example, if a customer asks you to handle the renewal, servicing, or regular follow-up of an existing policy sold by another agent, you can add that policy to Mitra Insurance Agent App and maintain it along with your other policy records.

This gives Mitra Insurance Agent App more flexibility for agents who manage policies beyond their own agency code, while LIC Super Sales Saathi App remains focused on the business and policies connected with your LIC agency.

5. Renewal Management System

LIC Super Sales Saathi App gives you renewal information related to your LIC agency, but it does not provide the same level of filtering for day-to-day renewal management. Mitra Insurance Agent App is designed more around how an agent actually needs to organise and follow up on renewals.

In Mitra Insurance Agent App, you can filter policies month-wise and see upcoming renewals, including the renewal list for the next month. You can also check the renewal records of each of the past six months individually, which helps you review previous renewal activity.

You can separate overdue policies and identify cases where the grace period has expired. Overdue policies with late fees can also be viewed separately. You can check policies that have been overdue for a particular number of days or policies that are due within a particular number of days.

After creating a filtered list, you can also use it for your actual follow-up work. You can export the list as a PDF, directly call customers, and send renewal reminders from the app. This means the filtering is not only for viewing information; it can help you move from checking the list to contacting customers.

For example, you can check policies due in the next few days, prepare next month's renewal list, review a particular past month's renewals, or focus only on overdue cases with late fees. LIC Super Sales Saathi App does not provide this same smart filtering and follow-up workflow.

This makes Mitra Insurance Agent App useful as a practical renewal management system. Instead of going through one long list of policies, you can create the list you need, export it when required, and start your customer follow-up from there.

6. Send Personalised Reminders

LIC Super Sales Saathi App and Mitra Insurance Agent App can both support an agent's regular customer work, but Mitra Insurance Agent App gives you a more direct way to use your policy records for personalised renewal and revival reminders.

In Mitra Insurance Agent App, you can send renewal reminders and revival reminders using pre-created message templates. You can personalise the message with details such as the customer's name, policy number and FUP date. For overdue policies, you can also include the outstanding amount and applicable late fee.

The reminder can be sent through SMS, WhatsApp or email. SMS is sent using your phone's SIM, while WhatsApp and email are sent through your own accounts. There is no separate messaging charge from Mitra Insurance Agent App for sending these reminders. You only need to keep the customer's contact details updated in the policy record.

I personally use this type of reminder follow-up with customers. When the right message reaches the customer at the right time, I often get a positive response and it becomes easier to continue the conversation about the renewal or pending premium.

The app does not automatically send reminders. You select the policy or customer, choose the appropriate reminder, check the personalised message and send it yourself. This keeps the agent in control of when and to whom the reminder is sent.

7. Revival Quotation and Follow-Up

One area where I have personally felt a gap in the LIC agent's daily working system is revival quotation. When a policy becomes overdue for a long time, an agent may need to know the revival amount before discussing the case with the customer. Traditionally, this can mean contacting or visiting the LIC office for the required information.

LIC Super Sales Saathi App also does not currently give the agent the complete revival quotation information needed for this type of follow-up. Mitra Insurance Agent App has been developed with this practical requirement in mind, so the agent can check the revival-related amount from the policy information maintained in the app.

You can see information such as how long the policy has been due, the overdue period, the late fee accumulated and the amount required for revival. This gives you a better idea of the case before you contact the customer, instead of starting the conversation without knowing the basic revival details.

After checking the revival information, you can also follow up with the customer through the reminder system. If required, you can send a personalised revival reminder through SMS, WhatsApp or email, using the customer's updated contact details in the policy record.

The idea behind this feature came from a practical problem faced by agents. Instead of first finding the information and then starting the customer follow-up, Mitra Insurance Agent App brings the relevant revival information together so that the agent can understand the case and take the next step.

8. Control Lapse Ratio and Focus on First Year Premium

Mitra Insurance Agent App has a separate screen where you can check whether the First Year Premium (FYP) of your policies has been paid or not. You can view this information for the Last Financial Year and Current Financial Year and see how much First Year Premium is still pending.

This is useful because First Year Premium is not something an agent should only check at the time of selling a policy. You may have sold the policy, but if the required premium is not paid or the policy does not continue properly, it can affect your business figures and lapse ratio.

You can use this screen to identify the policies where First Year Premium is still pending and then follow up with those customers. By keeping track of these cases regularly, you can work towards reducing your lapse ratio.

For agents working towards LIC club membership, where maintaining the required lapse ratio is important, this type of tracking can be particularly useful. Instead of checking policies one by one, you can use the separate FYP screen to identify pending cases and take follow-up action.

LIC Super Sales Saathi App provides your LIC business information, while Mitra Insurance Agent App gives you an additional way to organise and monitor this policy-level information for your own working and follow-up.

9. Manage Policies From Different Insurance Companies

LIC Super Sales Saathi App is designed around your LIC agency, so the policy and business information available there is connected with your LIC work. Mitra Insurance Agent App is not limited to one insurance company.

In Mitra Insurance Agent App, you can add policies from different insurance companies and maintain them in the same policy database. This can be useful for agents who work with LIC along with health insurance, general insurance or other insurance products.

For example, if you have LIC policies as well as health or general insurance policies that you are managing for customers, you can add those records to Mitra Insurance Agent App. You can also maintain multiple policies of the same customer in one place.

This becomes more useful when your insurance work is spread across different companies. Instead of maintaining separate records for each company, Mitra Insurance Agent App can give you one working place for the policies you choose to manage.

LIC Super Sales Saathi App remains focused on LIC agency-related work, while Mitra Insurance Agent App can be used as a broader policy management system for an agent's overall insurance business.

Final Thoughts

LIC Super Sales Saathi App and Mitra Insurance Agent App are useful for different parts of an insurance agent's work. LIC Super Sales Saathi App is the official LIC app for marketing intermediaries and gives you access to information connected with your LIC agency.

Mitra Insurance Agent App is not an LIC app and does not fetch your LIC policy data automatically. You have to add the policies yourself, but once the data is added, you can use it for more detailed policy management and regular customer follow-up.

From renewal filtering and overdue tracking to personalised reminders, revival information, First Year Premium monitoring and managing policies from different insurance companies, Mitra Insurance Agent App is designed around the practical work an agent does beyond simply checking business figures.

I developed Mitra Insurance Agent App because I personally felt the need for a system where an insurance agent could maintain policy information and use that information for regular follow-up. It is not meant to replace LIC Super Sales Saathi App or any official LIC application. Rather, both can have their own place in an agent's working system.

The choice is therefore not about replacing one app with another. LIC Super Sales Saathi App can be used for your official LIC agency-related information, while Mitra Insurance Agent App can work as your own policy management and customer follow-up system.
